About me

Create. Learn. Grow. Repeat.
If there is one thread that has run through my entire life, it's creativity.
Long before I discovered dog grooming, branding or writing, I was the child who happily stayed home with a pencil and a blank sheet of paper while everyone else went outside to play. I loved creating imaginary worlds, making things with my hands and becoming completely immersed in whatever had captured my curiosity.
Looking back, I realise I've never really changed.
I've simply found new ways to create.
Dog grooming became my profession because it brought together everything I loved: creativity, technical skill, problem-solving, working with animals and the endless opportunity to keep learning. What began as a passion grew into an international career that took me further than I ever expected.
For six years, I proudly represented the UK as a member of Groom Team England. Along the way, I was fortunate to win Best in Show at Eurogroom three times, along with BIS at Groomania, Mastergroom and British Groomer of the Year. My salon was named PIF UK Dog Grooming Salon of the Year, and I twice received the Congeniality Award at The World Dog Grooming Conference.
Today, I remain actively involved in the profession as a hand stripping judge for the European Grooming Association and an ambassador for The Sentinel. Dog grooming may no longer be my entire world, but it will always be part of who I am.
My curiosity eventually led me into another lifelong passion—aromatherapy.
Studying Clinical Aromatherapy and cosmetic formulation opened up a completely new way of helping dogs and their owners through natural products.
That journey led to creating Vita Canis aromatherapy products for dogs that I ran in the UK for ten years, and now developing products for The Sentinel. It also inspired me to write my first publication, Aromatherapy for Dog Groomers. I'm currently working on an expanded edition that I hope to publish in print.
But perhaps the biggest lesson I've learned has nothing to do with grooming, design or essential oils.
It's that creativity doesn't belong to one profession.
It belongs to a way of living.
Over the years I've explored branding, web design, illustration, photography, painting, crochet, writing and countless other creative pursuits. Some have become businesses, some remain hobbies, and some are simply there because they bring me joy.
I genuinely believe that the more we create, the more creative we become.

Every new skill teaches us something. Every project makes us a little braver. Every mistake becomes another lesson. Creativity is like a muscle—the more we use it, the stronger it grows.
These days you'll often find me writing, sketching ideas in a notebook, working on a new creative project or learning something completely outside my comfort zone. I'm also writing my first book—a project that's challenging, exciting and teaching me as much about myself as it is about writing.
This website reflects everything I love.
You'll find articles about dog grooming, creativity, lifelong learning, branding, books, ideas and the occasional rabbit hole I've enthusiastically disappeared down.
As Albert Einstein said,
"Creativity is intelligence having fun."
I couldn't agree more.
So whether you're here because of dogs, creativity, writing or simple curiosity, I'm glad you found your way here.
Welcome.
Jitka xx
